How to choose a UFO high bay light
Match Light Output, Voltage and Controls to Your Space
- Layout and light levels: Compare lumens, beam distribution, mounting height and fixture spacing. Include the work area, obstructions and target light levels when planning a layout.
- Input voltage: Choose a fixture whose listed range covers the actual circuit voltage. A 100–277V or 120–277V fixture cannot be used on a 480V circuit.
- Selectable wattage and CCT: Compatible fixtures let installers choose output and color temperature on site. Available settings and lumen output vary by model.
- Motion sensors: Sensor-ready does not mean a sensor is included. Check the selected variant, compatible accessory and available control functions.
- Dimming: Verify the selected fixture's dimming specification and control wiring before connecting an existing system.
- Mounting: Confirm hook mounting, suspension hardware, cable length and any optional bracket or pendant accessories on the product page. Alternate hardware is not included unless stated.

UFO high bay lighting FAQs
Common Questions Before Ordering
How many UFO lights will my building need?
Quantity depends on building dimensions, mounting height, fixture photometrics, obstructions and required illumination. Provide a floor plan and target light levels for project review; wattage alone cannot establish fixture count or spacing.
What is the difference between fixed and selectable wattage?
A fixed-wattage fixture has one rated output setting. A selectable fixture provides the settings specified for that model. Compare lumen output at the intended setting.
Does a sensor-ready high bay include a motion sensor?
Not necessarily. Choose a sensor-included variant when offered, or confirm the correct compatible accessory. Some models are sold without a sensor.
Can UFO high bays replace existing HID fixtures?
They can be considered for suitable retrofit projects. Compare voltage, mounting, lumen output and distribution; HID wattage equivalence alone does not establish the finished light level.
